Baritone- City Opera Debut: Candide, 2017
Baritone Peter Kendall Clark has created roles in numerous world premieres, most recently the title role of Ted Rosenthal’s Dear Erich, to which the New York Times said “he brought gravity and an earthy sound .” Mr. Clark has appeared with Virginia Opera, Hawaii Opera Theater Caramoor Opera, Ashlawn Opera, Syracuse Opera, Belleayre Festival, St. Petersburg Opera, Chelsea Opera, Opera on the James, and Skylight Music Theatre. Recent engagements include Harold Hill in The Music Man at St. Petersburg Opera, Harry Easter in Street Scene at Virginia Opera, Sweeney Todd with Hawaii Opera Theater, Fredrik in A Little Night Music, MacHeath in The Threepenny Opera and Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady at Syracuse Opera, Older Thompson in Glory Denied at Union Avenue Opera, Candide (directed by Harold Prince), La Fanciulla del West and Peter Eötvös’Angels in America, Brokeback Mountain and Stonewall at NYCO. Upcoming performances include the New York premiere of Tom Cipullo’s chamber opera The Parting with Chelsea Opera.
